In this three-part series, I will discuss about the enterprise issues & challenges and how to address them. We will detail how to use the enterprise primitives for solving different enterprise disorders.
You will agree that every human being is different, yet they follow a common body structure. Similarly, every enterprise is different, but they follow a common structure, i.e. Zachman framework. In this webinar series, I will use the zachman framework as an enterprise ontology ( similar to periodic table) to work on several business problems.
Of course, there is no end to the prevailing confusions and myths in the industry about Enterprise Architecture. Zachman Framework is “enterprise ontology” and not just taxonomy (Top 21 Zachman Framework Myths – Busted). The framework is ontology, i.e. complete set of things that makes the enterprise, similar to “Periodic Table.” All the compounds (chemical) which exist on planet Earth can be created by mixing the primitive elements (of periodic table). Similarly, all the enterprise composites are possible by combining the primitive cells in Zachman Framework.
In particular, I will take the problems like process improvement, strategy change and application rationalization due to recent merger & acquisition etc. This series will also include how to identify multiple parameters and create a dependency model for Disaster Recovery. Furthermore, you will see a sample about how to quickly identify the factors for process improvement related to Human Resource Department etc.
8 reasons why you must have this webinar series?
1. What are the 4 key myths about the Enterprise Architecture & how to avoid the trap?
2. How to effectively use Enterprise Architecture for solving enterprise problems? 5 steps to business process improvement or how to derive new strategy quickly.
3. Learn limitations of the classical approaches ( including Enterprise Architecture)
4. How to create enterprise composite models for creating the necessary enterprise X-ray for the problem solving
5. How to separate primitives from existing composite models for creating enterprise anatomy
6. Compare the time and costs associated with classical problem-solving approach vs ontology driven approach.
7. Visual diagnosis for effective enterprise treatment using relationship matrix, performance indicators, Composite Models & Traceability
8. Answers to over 70 questions which you wanted to ask from an enterprise architecture practitioner
Are there Q&A session?
| Each webinar session will end with Q&A session which typically lasts for 15-20 mts. Each Q&A session focus on questions from the webinar as well as questions raised by participants from their projects. |
Sample questions:
Q1 Is it ok to create a BPMN diagram and store in row 2, column 2 in Zachman framework? I see the example given by tool vendor having a BPMN diagram.
Q2. How practical is to derive strategy primitives? Is it very time-consuming? Can you explain why do we need the primitives?
Q3. How quick and easy to get the dependency graph such as relationship matrix or traceability diagrams? Is it key to prognosis?
Q4. Is it possible to work on 30-45 day enterprise architecture delivery cycle? Is it feasible?
Q5. How many known enterprise disorders today? You showed us some 9 or 10?
Q6. Can you explain how the framework helps in creating the x-ray for diagnosis of a problem?
Q7. Why we can’t create an enterprise x-ray in minutes to solve one or more problems?
Q8. Are you saying that we should not call “multi variable” model as “architecture” model? And what is failing is not “enterprise architecture” but the skewed understanding of EA? IS it correct?
Q9. What’s the difference between Zachman Framework and other frameworks such as TOGAF, DoDAF, etc.?
Q10. Why does anatomy driven approach to new product or service design so important? I see you emphasizing on it quite a lot.

In this 3 part series, will share our experience of using enterprise architecture in solving customer problems. These are the same set of skill which our workshop participants in London, Denver, Singapore, Bangalore, Sydney and Washington learnt this year. You will also learn how to effectively use the Zachman framework in solving the enterprise dis-orders.
One thing is for sure, be ready for an insight that could give you a completely different perspective. Of course, it will equip you with necessary tool and techniques to start diagnosis and prognosis of enterprise problems in a systematic way. Furthermore, getting a special discount of nearly 30% if you buy the 3 part series bundle. Hope to connect with you soon.

Here, is set of 3 questions from the recent webinar on “Managing Enterprise Disorders using Zachman Framework”. Click on the videos to find out the answer.
Q1. I hear you saying, “ don’t treat enterprise disorder in isolation”, can you explain it?
Q2. Can you explain the “ontology” thing? Why Zachman Framework is an “ontology”? How do you know 36 cells in the framework are sufficient to describe an enterprise?
Q3. What are the limitations with the current enterprise framework, methodologies and approaches in solving enterprise problems? Why we can’t create an enterprise x-ray in minutes to solve one or more problems?
